I found TedTalks audio somewhere along my 4 hour drive back from DC on Monday morning. Here are two things that continue to resonate with me:
There’s zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas.
–Susan Cain in her Ted Talk celebrating the beauty of being an introvert. Watch it. She is an eloquent speaker and her first story about bringing a suitcase full of books to camp resonates absolutely, completely, wholeheartedly with me.What can I say? it’s an INTJ thing…
“When we numb [hard feelings], we numb joy, we numb gratitude, we numb happiness.”
-Brene Brown on how opening yourself up to vulnerability with others leads to greater courage, confidence and lifelong happiness. Watch this one here. This talk was a conviction for my introverted, ‘deal with it myself’ attitude. Being vulnerable is important because no one is perfect; we just pretend like we are.
